Eric Schmidt is an American businessman and philanthropist that previously served as the CEO and chairman of Google and its later parent company Alphabet from 2001 through 2017. Schmidt was listed in Chronicle Philanthropy‘s 2025 Philanthropy 50, which analyzes some of America’s biggest donors every year. ¹
