The World Bank refers to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA), two of the five institutions under the umbrella of the World Bank Group.  The World Bank provides grants and loans to low- and middle-income countries with the goal of promoting economic development and reducing poverty. 12
