Background and Activities

The Jane Fonda Climate PAC is a political action committee (PAC) founded in 2022 by actress and activist Jane Fonda. After forming the PAC, Fonda claimed the planet would reach “the point of no return” if it did not cut carbon emissions in half by 2030. In 2025, the Jane Fonda PAC released a statement arguing the planet had only five years to prevent a “climate catastrophe.”  1  2

Democratic Party candidates whom the Jane Fonda Climate PAC has previously supported include California Attorney General Rob Bonta, New Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands Stephanie Garcia Richard,  U.S. Representatives Summer Lee (D-PA) and Greg Casar (D-TX), and Virginia attorney general candidate Jay Jones. It also supported liberal candidate Susan Crawford for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. 3

The Jane Fonda PAC argued that during the 2022 election cycle, 42 of the 60 candidates it endorsed won their general election races. It also claimed that in 2023, 13 of the 14 candidates the PAC endorsed within the state of Virginia won, leading to the Virginia House of Delegates flipping to the Democratic Party. During the 2024 election cycle, the PAC claimed that 9 of the candidates it had endorsed won.  2

The Jane Fonda PAC has also hosted fundraisers, get-out-the-vote events featuring Fonda, and voter outreach activities such as knock-on-doors and making phone calls for endorsed candidates. 4
