Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC is a Jewish-focused political action committee that supports candidates and causes that align with the left-of-center principles of Bend the Arc and Bend the Arc Jewish Action. Politico reported that Alexander Soros, son of left-of-center billionaire mega-donor George Soros “helped establish” Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC. ¹

History

Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC was founded in 2015. According to a report in Politico, Alexander Soros, the son of left-of-center mega-donor George Soros, “helped establish” the PAC. Alexander Soros told Politico that the PAC provided “an opportunity to launch something that actually speaks to what the American Jewish community cares the most about and to show the narrative of what the real American Jewish experience is.” ¹

The PAC aligns with Bend the Arc’s left-of-center social-policy initiatives and supports candidates who align with the organization’s stance on social activism. The PAC lists “dismantling white nationalism and antisemitism,” “Black liberation,” “civil and reproductive rights,” “economic justice,” and “immigrant justice” as its values. ²

During the 2020 elections, in addition to endorsing then-former Vice President Joe Biden for President, ³ the PAC also endorsed over 70 Congressional candidates. ⁴

Finance

During the 2019-2020 election cycle, the PAC reported over $828,000 in total receipts and over $545,000 in total receipts during the 2017-2018 election cycle. During the 2015-2016 election cycle the PAC reported over $578,000 in total receipts. ⁵

Leadership

Mark Mildner was formerly treasurer of Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC and has worked as the chief financial officer of Bend the Arc. ⁶ Previously, Mildner worked at HIAS ⁷ as the vice president of finance and administration. ⁸
