History and Activities

America’s Conservation Ag Movement is a coalition of farmers and industry groups focused on conservation practices in agriculture. It is an initiative of the Farm Journal, a publication for the food and agriculture industries, through Farm Journal’s Trust in Food division. Trust in Food uses data, best business practices, strategic communication, and behavioral science to promote a transition to what it believes are more sustainable and resilient agricultural practices. 1  2  3  4

According to its LinkedIn page, ACAM is located in Lenexa, Kansas. 7

ACAM convenes farmers, ranchers, farmer associations, conservation nonprofits, food companies, consumers, and other agricultural businesses to promote the adoption of agricultural conservation practices and products. It also hosts field days and tours led by ranchers and farmers in support of sustainability practices. 1  8

ACAM also recruits conservation stewards, who are farmers and ranchers who show leadership in conservation practices and then assemble producers in their regions to promote the adoption of these practices. ACAM provides conservation stewards with management support, meeting organization, outreach support, education, and other services. 1

In 2025, Conservation Stewards included a blueberry farmer in Georgia and a Red Angus rancher in Montana. 8

Additionally, ACAM promotes stories of farmers who engage in conservation practices, especially those who demonstrate how to cut costs, improve weather resiliency, increase profits, decrease erosion, limit water usage, and reduce the time it takes to engage in agricultural activity. 1

ACAM provides its members resources, including case studies, videos, cost-sharing programs, technical support, and profitability improvements based on state. These resources focus on issues such as protecting pollinators, promoting soil health, improving water quality, and evaluating emerging technologies. 5
